You are invited to experience the State Parks of Arkansas. Arkansas' parks system is a legacy, known for its enchanting natural settings and diversity of facilities and activities.
Today over 24,000 programs, tours and events are presented for the enjoyment and education of park visitors. The 50 state parks provide some of Arkansas's best experiences, such as, mountaintop hideaways with cloud-capped lodges, lakeshore cabins with cozy fireplaces, and riverside campsites along the famous White River. Enjoy an island getaway with full resort amenities including golf, a museum village recreating life in frontier Arkansas, or a diamond mine where you'll search for "finders keepers" gems. Visit a folk cultural complex demonstrating the traditional homestead crafts and front porch music of the Ozark Mountains and prehistoric Native American mounds. Take a ride on a riverboat, take a swamp tour, or embark on many other adventures available in Arkansas.
Arkansas Parks and Tourism provides hundreds of services and facilities for you. Their staff serves visitors, maintains park resources and facilities, and enforces rules. The parks are open year-round and uniformed staff is on-call 24 hours a day.
Some facilities are closed seasonally or on certain days of the week, so please check with the individual parks for details. A variety of fees are sometimes charged in the state parks for designated facilities, activities, interpretive programs, and special events.
